Vehicle Stability Control Indicator

The front of a car with wavy lines in front of the wheels and the word OFF underneath.

When you see this light, your Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) has been turned off. This safety feature cuts power to the wheels as necessary to prevent skidding on slippery surfaces. There are very few reasons to ever turn this handy feature off. To turn the system back on, press the button that matches this light—but only when your vehicle is at a complete stop.

Slip Indicator

The front of a car with wavy lines in front of the wheels.

This light looks very similar to the VSC indicator, and that’s not a coincidence. If you see this light flash while driving, the Toyota Camry stability systems are operating to assist you with vehicle control. Consider pulling over or finding an alternate route to your destination to reduce the chance of future slippage.

Intelligent Clearance Sonar Indicator

A car’s silhouette with a star and traffic cone by the rear bumper.

This symbol doesn’t mean that your car is excited about the existence of traffic cones—it shows that the Intelligent Clearance Sonar system (ICS) has been switched off.

When this available feature is on, it prevents your Toyota Camry from accidentally rolling into objects when you’re parking or moving at a low speed. If you’d like to switch the handy option back on, use the multi-information display.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp

The outline of an engine with the word CHECK underneath.

You may have heard this indicator referenced as the “check engine light.” It does suggest that there could be a malfunction in the engine control system. It could also be broadcasting an issue in the throttle or transmission. Prioritize getting your Camry to a service center.

Master Warning Light

An exclamation point inside a triangle.

This light guides drivers toward more information—it’s a very helpful triangle! When the master warning light appears, it means that there’s an important message being displayed on the multi-information display behind your steering wheel. Read the message and follow any additional instructions that it gives.
