Indicator Lights

When a blue or green light pops up on your dash, it serves as an indicator that one of the features in your Toyota Corolla is activated. This is nothing to be concerned about, and the light will disappear as soon as your shut the feature off. Some of the indicator lights you could possibly see appear on your dashboard include:

  • Front Fog Lights: When a green symbol in what looks like a light pops up, it’s indicating that your vehicle’s front fog lights are activated.
  • Main Beam: This blue light-shaped symbol illuminates when your headlights are switched to high beams.
  • Direction Indicator: An image of a blinking green arrow is letting you know that either your right or left turn signal is on. When the hazard warning lights are on, both arrows will flash repeatedly.
  • Security Indicator: When a light shaped like a key is lit on your Toyota Corolla dashboard, it’s alerting you that your vehicle’s security system is working correctly.
  • Side Lamps: The image of two green lights comes on the dash when either the side or headlights are turned on.

Warning Dashboard Lights

When a yellow or red light appears on your Toyota Corolla dashboard, this is a warning that something may be wrong with your vehicle. Sometimes the issues being indicated are easy fixes, especially if they’re yellow, but often it means you might have to schedule your next appointment at our service center. Some of the warning lights that you may experience at some point or another include:

  • Coolant Temperature Warning Light: A red light shaped like a thermometer is letting you know that your engine is overheating. If this appears, it’s important that you pull over safely and shut off your engine to let your engine cool down.
  • Oil Pressure Warning: An icon of an older style oil can pops up when your oil pressure is too low. To avoid potential engine damage, you’ll want to get this issue taken care of ASAP.
  • Engine Check Indicator Light: Your Toyota Corolla Check Engine light could be appearing for several reasons. It could be warning you of an issue with your engine, but sometimes it could mean that your gas cap is loose, cracked, or open.
  • Tire Pressure Warning Light: When a yellow icon of an exclamation point inside a horseshoe shape is lit up, your vehicle is letting you know one or more tires either have too little or too much air.
